Those that are familiar with my work know that in one way or another, it explores the various absurdities, anxieties, identities, paradoxes and inherent kitsch within Australian nationalistic iconography.

In recent years I’ve developed a unique practice that critiques notions of a singular Anglo-national Australian identity in our imagery and explores the mythologies that surround those ideals.

I create rich, high key, colourful paintings that explore a socio-political commentary through a combination of historical research and intuitive artistic invention that asks the viewer to reconsider and reassess the layers of narrative tied up in mythologies of surrounding the Australian identity and brings to light the various erasures of other histories at it’s expense.
